Tattoo ink in tangerine peels, found branches and clay

Exhibited at Apocalyptic Yesterday 21 – 30 March 2025, curated by Hidden Keileon and supported by Bow Arts.

Live tattooing performed on 30 March 2025 as part of the Apocalyptic Yesterday exhibition’s zine launch and spoken text party.

A work about grieving and healing. Tattooed onto these tangerine skins are words and fragments of grief and losses, collected from friends and exhibition visitors. They are in the process of becoming 陳皮 (Chen Pi) - aged dried tangerine peels thought to have medicinal properties in Traditional Chinese Medicine to soothe the body.

Words of grief were collected throughout the exhibition and were tattooed live onto tangerine skins on the last day of the exhibition as part of a spoken text event.
