String Figures is a commissioned site-specific work created in response to the House Mill, a Grade I listed tidal mill on the River Lea in Bromley-by-Bow, London, UK. Performed inside the grain bin of the mill, the artist used a long piece of string to draw in the space. The string lines emulated the rise and fall of the level of grains that once filled and emptied the bin, connecting this process to breathing and simultaneously telling the story of the tides that activated the whole building.

*‘until you became me’ was an exhibition of Karen Le Roy Harris and Miriam Sedecca that explored how water connects us to each other and the environment.
